International exhibition and online publication
Yak Yak: rural art dialogues is a curatorial project that brings together some geographically disparate works and practices responding to the complexities and challenges of particular rural situations and places.These are practices involving individuals and collectives, artists, farmers, architects and others. They open up new avenues of thought about collectivity, material production, praxis and aesthetics.
Featuring contributions by Brown’s Cows (AUS); Centro Rural de Arte (ARG); Kultivator (SW); M12 (US); Michael Shireffs (AUS); Shaun Mackrell (AUS); Trevor Flinn (AUS); and Veronica Nicholson (IRL).
Yak Yak: rural art dialogues takes the form of a gallery exhibition (Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery, Victoria, Australia), A web presentation and an online publication that seeks to elucidate some of the thinking and processes behind these productions.
The project is co-curated by Ian Tully (AUS) and Fiona Woods (IRL).
